Mule of the Month

MULE OF THE MONTH
The Mule of the Month Award (The coverted 3 carrots) celebrates the acheivements of one or more Mules in the line of duty. These include such heroic feats such as:
  • Pulling the Mule Train for long durations of an event
  • Raising funds for charities
  • Significant improvement as a rider/fitness goals
  • Providing much needed refreshments to the Mule fold.

** From Nov 2011 The Mule of the month is voted on each month.

Jason Flockton -August 2010
In 2010 Jason was our main stalwart in many events. He led from the front and coached our MULES well ensuring that we always had enough energy in reserve to finish the ride. No more significant was this than the 2010 Hotter than Hell Ride in which Jason pulled us against a strong wind all the way home. Very happy and grateful MULES!!

Philip Shrimpton - January 2011
Although the USA Mules welcomed the cooler temperatures of Winter in Texas, Winter in the UK is something that most riders would swap for a nice comfortable duvet and a hot water bottle. NOT Phil, who took on Winter with the same gusto as he does Summer (With a few extra layers).

Kenny Rhame - February 2011
We are so proud of "Mighty Mouse" - He is up for any challenge and never lets go until he is good at it. Kenny took to running and showed us all that "excellence" can be acheived with hard work. Kenny excelled in a number of road races and crushed his first 1/2 Marathon.

Kevin Schofield - March 2011
Kevin first choice of MULE name was "Draggin Ass" but it soon became evident that with some inspiration, motivation and hard work, he could quickly dispense of the "Ass" as he "Dragged" us all around the Texas countryside as a solid leader.

Dani Hochleutner - April 2011
The April Grand Fondo saw a decent MULE contingent but with stong winds this was always going to be a challenge! A challenge for some but not for Dani who really showed some true grit while spending the majority at the front pulling us along. First FE-MULE to win Mule of the month and a tremendous effort.

Sean Lloyd - May 2011
Sean gets stronger and stronger each time he rides and May was no exception when he took his training and his riding to a new level leaving "Dogs" in his wake.

Samantha Dennison - June 2011
Sam showed up one day on the reccomendation of Adam, and the rest is history! She was one of the most consistant riders of the Summer showing up on Saturdays & Sundays to get some great base miles under her belt and excel to be a very strong rider. (And always a joy to be around)

Simon Gooding - July 2011
Simon is one of the strongest Anglo Mules and his workrate in a number of UK sportif's gained him this months award. This was especially so in the Mules 24 hr Charity Ride for Help for Heroes when he kept the Mule train driving forwards

Karen Gooding - August 2011
Our sadest day in MULE HISTORY - Karen who came over from England to ride with the MULES in the Hotter than Hell took a terrible tumble the day after she arrived. After a "Life flight" Helicopter and a 4 days in Hospital one of her first questions after she regained consciousness was "IS MY BIKE OK?" - One Tough MULE as we wish her a speedy recovery.

Philip Shrimpton - September 2011
Phil - Not being satisfied with the Hotter than Hell flew straight back to the UK to compete in the Manchester 100 with the Anglo Mules followed by the Big G. With his mileage for the year clocking 7000 Miles he is truly an inspiration.

Christian/Big John/Taylor  - October 2011
A first - Three Winners for one Month!!!
Three of our MULES flew to Hawaii to take part in the Hawaii Century Ride as part of Big John's Team in Training Group. In doing so they raised $12,000. These guys make us so proud.

Paddy 'Le Patron' - November 2011
Despite spending a significant amount of time away on his travels Paddy remains a prominant rider and linchpin of the Mules Movement.
He has now pushed on recruiting more mules, providing better support and establishing a new website.
For this we pay homage to our leader

TBD - December 2011
