| Simon Gooding |
Saddle: Trek Madone Discovery Team special edition
Pasture: East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, All over UK, Texas
The strongman of the Anglo Mules, Simon is an excellent all rounder and an accomplished climber. He salivates at the sight of a double digit elevation where he takes up the baton for the Mules. On such accents where anybody within sight is 'fair game' to be 'Muled'.
He dreams of pastures new with the Alps and Pyrenees moving into his sights.
His bedside reading is 'The 100 most difficult climbs' goodness knows what his dreams are about

| Bobby Sexton |
Saddle: Custom made Ribble
Pasture: East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire all over UK
Bobby is a number of things to a number of people: He provides us all with great joy and amusement with his poor jokes and excellent company. Not wanting to conform to modern day technology Bobby rides a custom made Ribble which is older than some of our riders.
At 58 years old he is our elder statesman but is a great example to us all that age is no barrier to either fitness or performance. He is as fit as a mountain goat and loves a similar terrain.
If you choose to overtake him on a climb, he will regain his position. He is so competitive that if you lock horns in such a way he will always get to the top first. Either through his steely determination or just by breaking your rhythm through laughter.
A true gentleman and a joy to ride with

Saddle: Focus
Pasture: East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, All over UK
At the grand old age of 42 I guess I now fit into that group of mid life men who generally need something to spend their spare money on. For some its golf, motorbikes or cars but for me its bikes and bike stuff. I’ve always had bikes since I was a kid, bombing round the country lanes of North Shropshire, but my first real road bike, a blue and purple Peugeot thing was bought with the money I got for my 18th birthday. Since then i’ve had a host of different road bikes, all steel or alloy but I treated myself to my current carbon steed about 4 years ago. At heart I am a social cyclist who just enjoys being out there soaking up the fresh air and country lanes with my fellow MULES. Since I joined the Anglo MULES I have been bitten by the sportive bug and the fellowship that comes with being part of a Team.

| Karen Gooding |
Saddle: Trek 1.5, Trek Madone
Pasture: East Yorkshire Karen has always ridden a bike but when her husband Simon got more serious there was no way that she was going to turn into a cycle widow. Within no time at all the shopping bike was put to the back of the garage replaced by two bikes for winter and summer, and her pedals were nervously replaced by cleats. She has now embraced the Mule family and taken on a number of rides including the middle distance Pocklington Pedal Challenge in a gale (Which she did on her own). This ride was so difficult that even Simon and I failed to complete the long route. She also led the charge up the Pennines on the Coast to Coast ride showing some great climbing ability. Sadly this summer saw her involved in a serious accident whilst training in Texas for the hotter than Hell ride. Although on the mend we dont expect to see Karen back on her bike until 2012. We all wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to riding with her again. |
| Mick Dudill |
Saddle: Dawes Hybrid, Giant
Pasture: East Yorkshire Mick has steadily increased his participation by completing the Coast to Coast and being a regular on Wednesday night rides where he has introduced a number of new riders to our group who may wish to be added to the stable in due course. Being a regular comuter his ability has increased considerably and he now smiles when he is ascending rather than cursing the route planner. We hope this continues and that we are able to persuade Mick to take part in a few organised rides. |

Pasture: East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire Having been forced to retire from rugby, my fitness levels started to rapidly deteriorate. I had cycled for many years as a supplement to my rugby training, but this had only been relatively short distances to and from the training ground. Once my rugby had stopped the need for cycling went the same way. A few years ago my enthusiasm for cycling was rekindled whilst working in an office of people who not only cycled to work but also took on further more challenging outings. I bought a second hand bike and the rest as they say is history. I completed my first sportive last year, the 112 mile flat out on the fens and loved it. I have since bought a carbon bike and a winter trainer and have completed a number of new cycling events including a 24hr Cycle challenge for the 'Help for Heroes Charity' with my fellow Mules. Having recently taken up a new job where I can still cycle to work, four of my colleagues have also taken to the road, the biggest challenge now is who gets the shower first. |
| Anne Richardson |
Saddle: Specialized Dolce
Pasture: East Yorkshire
Anne is our newest Femule who loves the concept of riders supporting each other and wears her Mule Jersey with pride.
Cycling is one of many sports that Anne takes part in where fitness and health are a major part of her lifestyle. She is a regular commuter to work where she accompanies 'La Domestique' and keeps him honest on the hills with her high Tempo riding. She is already looking for a second bike to enable her to ride throughout the winter months She hopes to extend her riding experiences in the future to join the rest of the Mules in some more group rides. |
| Joanne Bartlett |
Saddle: Scott Speedster
Pasture: East Yorkshire, Texas
Joanne was the first ever FeMule and is the partner of 'La Domestique'. She thrives on the flatlands where she often suprises other cyclists her strength and speed. She has completed in a number of Century rides including the Manchester 100, Coast to coast and Flat out in the Fens. She dreams of getting her own Carbon bike which she thinks will spur her on bigger and better things including extending her repotoire to climbing |
