| Training Coaches |
As a Direct Energy Employee and a "MULE" Club member I am proud to be associated with this years 2012 MS-150 where our intent is to make the experience as enjoyable and safe as possible.
While Direct Energy and our Sponsors will be providing much needed logistical support for the ride the reality is that without "personal preparation" and training the ride could prevent a challenge to even the most experienced riders. Myself and a number of other coaches hope that our combined 20 + rides of this event will help give you the best preparation in completing this two day event and we are commited to helping make this an enjoyable experience. |
| Training Schedule - Updated 1/14/2012 |
For those of you who are eager to start training early there will be a number of rides starting in November. There will be two different types of Rides:
MS150 - Recommended Rides - (These are fully supported and require registration). For these Types of rides you can usually pick your distance to ride but we encourage you to start of at a 25 Mile Minimum and slowly build up as you feel stronger. Remember some rides may be flat and some have Hills so speaker to your coaches. Direct Energy/HAA - Mules Training Rides - (Calendar) These rides will be managed as part of the usual MULES riding schedule which is highlighted by ORANGE These rides will consist of only DIRECT ENERGY , HAA, and MULE Riders and will give us the opportunity to vary the distances as well as provide one on one ride coaching with those cyclists who need it. *** BRAND NEW TO RIDING OR UNCOMFORTABLE RIDING IN LARGE GROUPS? *** If this applies to you talk/E Mail one of our coaches and they will suggest a good training plan for you. In the past we have met riders after our morning ride (10:30-11:00) and completed shorter 12/15 mile rides at a slower pace to ease riders into their own comfort level. |
| RIDE HQ & Pre-Ride Updates |
RIDE HQ: The Mules are Famous for their hospitality and one key resource of the MULES is the Mules Trailer which has just about every spare componant that you would expect from a fully supported cycle team. Adding to this we have a tent, chairs, benches, and refreshments to ensure we fully recuperate after our rides with some much needed rest and a few good "Ride Stories" The trailer is always our meeting and finishing point to ensure we can account for all of our riders.
PRE-RIDE Updates: From time to time events may be canceled or postponed by weather but equally important is that we cycle together as a team so getting to RIDES on time is very important. Please consider the following 3 - Guidelines: 1. If you are planning to ride at the weekend please let one of the riding coaches know by close of buisness on the Thursday before the weekend. 2. If you commit to a ride and then cant make it please ensure you contact one of the coaches 1 hour before the ride starts. 3. Please be on time - We have HARD start times so if your not on time dont expect us to wait. |
